The Rumours are all true- Vegas is amazing. There is a reason why people keep coming back, right? It is especially true if you are a girl who likes a good night out on the town. There are always club promoters trying to get as many girls as they can into their venues: so you are likely to score a cheap night of living in luxury. "Dom Perignon, Oh yeah- i totally drank that last weekend at home…"
Do you like a good meal? There are plenty of dining options, almost TOO MANY! Do you like great weather, shopping and site seeing? Yes, this is your place. Even if you don’t have a crew of babes to roll into Nevada with- there is something for you! Going with your significant other? There are numerous shows to hit up. Not into dancing? There is always gambling! The possibilities are endless. I have compiled a small list of my faves from my past 2 Vegas trips, which I hope you find beneficial. Lets just say this will not be my last trip to Sin City- someone has GOT to be getting married soon and I will be planning the Bach here!
Favourite Buffet: The Wicked Spoon in the Cosmopolitan Hotel
This isn’t your average buffet. For just under $50 you can basically eat whatever you want. It isn’t the type of buffet where you slap the corn on your plate beside the BBQ chicken- its tapas style so almost everything is plated nicely so you can just go around and take whatever looks appealing to you. The desert area is adorable; it looks like a Parisian bakery. You can eat gelato, squares, cakes, macaroons-you name it! One word of advice: Don’t dress all fancy in tight dresses like we did. Leggings and a baggy shirt will be your best friend because you will roll out of here!
Favourite Place to enjoy an adult beverage: The Sugar Factory in The Paris Hotel
Don’t let the steep price of the goblet-sized drink scare you away. For $38 you get a MASSIVE drink (If you need to have more then one of these you just MAY have a drinking problem!!) a view of the Bellagio fountains and a great photo opp. My drink was green, topped with 2 massive lollypops/candy necklace AND was smoking when they poured it! You can buy the goblet for an extra $15 dollars as well. (Which we bought after we finished the drink-may have not bought it before we drank it though!)
Favourite Place to let your hair down on the D. Floor: Tao in The Venetian
Its not every day you see girls dancing in bathtubs at the bar. Don’t let this weird you out- the music here is GREAT, everyone is really friendly, and there is a lot of space to get down and dirty since the club is quite large. If you need a break from droppin’ it like its hot- the small patio provides great views of the Vegas strip.
Favourite Place to enjoy a sweet treat: Serendipity 3 outside Caesars Palace.
This place is a sugar lover’s fantasy- it would make the tooth fairy cringe. If you’re like me: you love chocolate and whipped cream-basically anything that would ruin the diet you put yourself on to fit into your Vegas wardrobe. My suggestion is to split something since the portions are quite large (You wont feel as much remorse this way! You can dance it off at Tao later that night, anyways!)
Favourite place to enjoy a quick slice on-the-go: The unmarked hallway lined with album covers by the pool tables on the 3rd floor of The Cosmopolitan.
2 different people recommended this place to me, so I had to go. It was a little hard to find but you will see it when you reach the 3rd floor. For less then $10 dollars you can get a drink and a slice of gourmet pizza, which was quite delicious. If you don’t have time to sit down to a nice meal, this is a great option.
Favourite pool and pool party: The MGM Grand & Wet Republic
I know I am not like 10 years old- but who doesn’t like a good lazy river? The pools at the MGM Grand hotel provide something for everyone! If you’re in the mood for a good book and relaxation, in the mood to par-tay, in the mood to float in a tube- they have something for you. There are numerous pools out back where you can choose your atmosphere. THEN if you feel like splashing around to some beats-hit Wet Republic. There are usually famous DJ’s playing and you’re guaranteed a good party. Never have I been so comfortable fist pumping in a bikini with hundreds of people I don’t know!
Favourite place to enjoy a good burger: Gordon Ramsey BurGR in Planet Hollywood
Hands down the best burger I’ve EVER eaten was at Gordon Ramsey BurGR. Damn. Those sweet potato fries and the dip that came beside them? HEAVEN! For less then $40 dollars you can have a full meal here, and leave feeling VERY happy. Don’t let the line up discourage you- suck it up. Plus: somehow they managed to hire all good-looking men with large muscles as servers. Gordon sure knows how to keep the lady customers coming back!
A Few Additional Tips:
1. You probably won't need longer then 4-5 days here (Especially if your here for a weekend of partying!) If you want to party: Your liver probably won't be able to handle more then 3 nights out. If your here for shows/shopping: your wallet may not be able to handle more then 3 days of purchasing!
2. If you want a great day trip: Look into Grand Canyon tours. Its a long day with an early pick up time, but its totally worth it! We used "The Grand Canyon Tour Company" and they were great!
3. Book a hotel on the strip. The strip does not SEEM that long, but it IS. If you don't stay along it, you will need to take cabs to and from, since the majority of the attractions are here. It can get pricey and become super inconvinent. Look at a map before you press "confirm booking"
4. Some hotels have high resort fees. Make sure you look into this while booking to avoid being surprised at check out. Some hotels charge over $30 per day.
5. Pool parties end mid October: if you are planning a bachelorette or just want to have a good time in a pool: some pools are still open for swimming however the day clubs probably won't be operating.
