You’re about to hit the pool in Las Vegas with your friends. You are excited, you have your bathing suit on, sunscreen in hand and ready to go- you just need to put something on top for the walk through the halls but wait… you didn’t bring anything! You didn’t think of that! I guess your going to have to strap on your club dress from the night before with the rum and coke stain down the front….
That never would have happened if you or your friends created something, which I proudly call my “packing spread sheet”. Make fun if you will, but this will help you not only know what to bring, but know what your friends are bringing. This will also help:
a. Coordinate for photos- you don’t want to clash beside each other during group shots
b. Avoid the “ummm you cant wear that black dress tonight, I'M wearing my black dress tonight. I didn’t bring anything else!
c. Avoid getting to your location and realize you didn’t bring your black pumps that match 2 of your outfits. What are you going to wear now? Those nude pumps? No that’s tacky…
What I like to do is lay out each day, the events taking place through out the day and what outfits I will need to pack. The outfit you packed for dinner may not be the outfit you would want to wear to after dinner drinks- but you probably didn’t think about that 5 days ago.
Don’t get me wrong, not everyone makes as many wardrobe changes in a day as my friends and I, however we are a group of gals who love a great photo shoot. You wouldn’t want to be seen in the same dress on vaycay on Monday AND Thursday, are you serious? That’s embarrassing….
SO, with that- I will leave you with an example of the spreadsheet I sent out to friends before our next vacation to Vegas. (I found this system is not effective when going away with a boy. They actually couldn’t care less what they are wearing a week from now- so you may not want to send him your spread sheet to avoid the “your crazy” and “maybe this trip isn’t such a good idea” conversation.) I like to print it out and bring it with me to avoid any outfit mishaps, but that may be going to far for some of you.
Take some time to take it in- keep it in mind the next time your traveling. It just may save you from any “I forgot my makeup!!!” mishaps! (Which may I add happened to a friend 3 years ago on a trip to Miami. These things happen girlfriend!)
